Delivering Sips in NYC

Sometimes what you’re looking for is to have a quiet night in with a drink at your side. But maybe you’ve forgotten to pick some up or didn’t have time to go to the store. No matter the case, you can still find something to sip on without having to venture out again.

If you’d love to have something to imbibe and want the ease of an app, check out  Drizly . Designed to be beautiful and easy to use, this app allows you to order wine and alcohol to be delivered in New York City from your phone.

Smooth and simple to use, Drizly has partnered with a variety of local retail shops that can deliver your favorite wine or alcohol for free within 20-40 minutes of placing the order. Since Drizly doesn’t actually stock any inventory, what is available to order will be dependent on where in New York City you are ordering from. Stand-by staples seem to be available most everywhere but you may not be able to find that unique vintage.

Making sure your bar is fully stocked for a party just got a lot easier.

Once you place an order through Drizly, your credit card will be charged and you’ll need to show ID when your order is delivered. If you want to schedule the delivery for later in the day, you can do that and up to 48 hours in advance. So if you’re having friends over tomorrow and know you’ll need to restock your supply, before or after, you can do it all with Drizly.

There’s no markup in pricing to use Drizly, so you get the same price you’d pay in the store but with the comfort of not leaving your home. What Drizly does encourage is tipping the delivery folks 10% since they are ensuring the safe and speedy delivery of the purchases to your door. Use code  techinmotion  for $10 off your order through the end of the month.

If you’re interested in an actual brick and mortar shop to handle your alcohol delivery needs, there is  Astor Wines which delivers in NYC. The selection at this shop will be more robust than what is available through Drizly, but you’ll also need to expect to wait a day for delivery. So although this is a great option if you know just the rare bottle that you want for a dinner party, they aren’t the ones to have on speed-dial if you know you’d like something in a flash.

Alcohol made simple: order it online.

Astor Wines does offer same-day delivery services for everyone below 125th Street for a flat fee of $25 and up to seven cases. Otherwise, Astor Wines will make deliveries for free, generally the next day, on orders over $99 pre-tax in Manhattan and Brooklyn. A Greenwich Village resident since 1946, you can bet that Astor Wines will be able to make some incredible recommendations for just the right pairing for whatever you might be having.

Whether you’re throwing a party or just want a relaxed night in, between Drizly and Astor Wines you’ve got fantastic options to ensure that you’re able to enjoy an evening at home with your favorite drink in-hand. Cheers!
